Description

3’x5′ premium 100D polyester flag with a white header and two grommets. Four rows of stitches on the fly and two rows on the top, bottom, and header side. The image is screen printed and appears on both sides.

This flag was designed by Peter Steele of the heavy metal band Type O Negative. It is a negative image of a Norwegian flag and meant to be a fictional Nordic Cross flag for North America. Vinland is the name given to a short lived Norse colony in Newfoundland, Canada by Icelandic explorer Leif Erikson. The colony is described in the Icelandic Saga and confirmed by modern archeological digs.

Patriotic Flags was the first company to ever make these flags. The Peter Steele tribute album, All For None, None For All: A Tribute To Peter Steele, featured one of the Vinland flags from our original batch on the front cover. Years later, other companies were inspired by Patriotic Flags to begin making the flags and it proliferated into a common design.

3’x5′ flags are 3ft x 5ft, 36in. by 60in, 91cm by 152cm, 1yard by 1.7yard. This is the most common size flag you see hanging on porches, small flag poles, hanging at festivals, and inside of bars and restaurants.
